Reason 2: Didn’t use the headset correctly.
Solution: Connect the headset to the telephone’s headset jack directly. Press the headset button on the telephone’s keypad to get dial tone, answer a call and hang up a call. Do not pick up the hand receiver from the telephone hood. Some telephone models use speaker phone button as the headset button. Some telephone use soft button for headset, some have to program a headset key before you can use a headset. Refer to your telephone user manual for details. Reason: echo canceling function is not turned on.
Solution: To enable the echo cancelling function on Polycom phone:
- Press the Menu button on the phone.
- Go to Settings.
- Go to Basic.
- Select Preferences.
- Select Headset.
- Select Echo Cancellation.
- Select Enable.
- Once enabled, press the left arrow key to go back to the home menu.

How to wear telephone headset?
